Join Dr. Mary Flett in Wine Country in Spring!
Spend five days in beautiful Sonoma, California exploring how to age better and age well. Facilitated by aging expert and transpersonal psychologist Dr. Mary Flett, participants will
· Learn how values inform key decisions as we age
· Practice mindfulness to age better and age well
· Identify strategies for aging in place
· Explore spiritual practices that support gerotranscendance
· Examine self-worth (“emotional economics”)
I guarantee you, this is not your typical workshop on aging! I will help you create the intentional, purposeful, and fulfilling capstone to your life using Five Pillars of Aging. I bring a lifetime of experience working with elders and being mentored by them. Out of this experience, I have identified five core knowledge and skill sets that are usually overlooked when you contemplate retirement.
The retreat is designed to create lasting relationships with each other and deepen your relationship to yourself. Each day we will gather and explore one of the five pillars. This will include experiential exercises, group sharing, and plenty of discussion and useful information. We practice intentional ways of being, including gentle exercise, meditation, and eating locally-sourced, healthy meals. All of these are designed to give you an immersive experience of the Five Pillars.
